With the 2022 Cinniapolis Fashion Week approaching, the remaining two finalists have been chosen for the Prep Uniform Design Showcase. Last week, Art Weston was named as the first finalist. This week, we are pleased to exclusively announce Freda Oppo and LaToya Panters as the other two finalists. Ms. Oppo is currently enrolled at Cinniapolis State University while Ms. Panters is a full-time barista at Beaned Café.
It’s shaping up to be an entertaining contrast of styles to outfit the incoming Cinni Prep class of 2026. Mr. Weston is the most established name of the bunch placing collections in major regional department stores, specializing in the business casual category with an emphasis on eco-friendly materials for his neo-revolutionary style. “We only have one earth, let’s care for it intensely,” he said in a 2020 interview.
The first newcomer to the fashion scene is Ms. Oppo. She is currently studying Fashion Design and held an internship at YFH during the Winter semester. “I design to inspire. My designs are heavily influenced by the nautical industry,” she said. Her posts on social media confirm her statement through heavy use of anchors, stars, ropes, and boats.
The last finalist to be introduced Ms. Panters. She graduated with a degree in Jewelry Design from Cinni State. She is credited with the recent re-design of the Beaned Café employee uniforms. “Mr. Roseman was so kind to allow me to design the uniforms. His support and promotion of my design to his board of directors was essential to being nominated for this great opportunity,” said Ms. Panters. The current Beaned Café uniform consists of a red baseball cap or visor with the company logo stitched above each temple, red polo shirts with the logo sewn on the left breast of the shirt, and white pants with subtle thin red pinstripes.
Each participant will debut their uniform design on the last day of fashion week with the winner being selected by a panel of judges to be announced on the first night of fashion week events.
