Summer Ballet Showcase

The Cinniapolis Ballet will be dancing again. After a lengthy pandemic hiatus, the regularly scheduled ballets will return to the stage this Summer at the Cinniapolis Performing Arts Theatre at The Great Eastern Hotel. The last performance from the company was Christmas Eve 2019 closing out their holiday show season. It’s another welcoming sign of Cinniapolis opening its doors to the public after enforced restrictions grinded the city to a halt.

Company Director, Lucy Drysdale, met with local media to promote the upcoming shows. “We, of course, are very excited and anxious to get back to the stage. We hope the audiences are equally as anxious to take in a performance,” she said. While attendance uncharacteristically dwindled in their last full season, a promise of bold story-telling and new performers are sure to whet the appetite of ballet enthusiasts from all corners of the earth. “Our talented choreographers and performers have been working long hours to provide a unique source of live entertainment that will be a memorable experience for the audience,” she said.

When the curtain opens this Summer, there will be a new face of the company, Svetlana Amerovich. That name may sound familiar because she starred in numerous ballets for the past decade and is also the daughter of a controversial, prominent local businessman, Ivan Amerovich. While the Amerovich family name seems to dance it’s way around global sanctions and flout international investigations into the family’s suspected ties to notorious global East oligarchs, Svetlana only plans to dance her way on to and off the Great Eastern stage, “I mostly enjoyed my time on the East coast. But, it can be quite crazy at times. The media and law enforcement seemed to have a fixation on my family. It was a rare day to have no interactions with one or the other. I’m very happy to be in a smaller market, like Cinniapolis, with all the perks of a large city but not so many of the parasites.” Take that, East coast metroplises.

The company has planned three shows for the Summer. Ms. Drysdale has successfully kept the stories a secret from the public, while only divulging that each is an original work of art. “We want to create the next classic, and have companies around the world retelling our stories. Please come out and support our local ballet, we can’t wait to see you.” Tickets go on sale shortly, stay tuned for schedule and ticket release in the upcoming weeks.
