After a mild Autumn, Cinniapolis can expect more of the same mildness this Winter. Above average temperatures are expected to last through January, with a possible polar vortex arriving in February. Precipitation levels are expected to hover around normal amounts for much of the Winter months.
Of course, nowadays, simple news, such as this weather forecast, cannot avoid politicization. “It’s been a short time since we’ve implemented policies targeted towards our climate’s health. But, the short-term results are positive. Our great citizens get all the credit. They’ve sacrificed their diets, their comfortable ways of life, and demonstrated extreme selflessness in helping Cinniapolis model a responsible plan to improve our climate and make Cinniapolis safe for everyone for a very, very long time,” said Mayor Gondola. “With this mild forecast, absent of severe storms and high winds, it’s safe to say our policies are working quite well. The rest of the world should take notice,” he said.
However, CNPS-TV Lead Meteorologist, Fran Dimple wasn’t so fast to agree, “This is a normal weather pattern for our region. For the past century, Cinniapolis has seen an uptick in active weather every 5 to 7 years, lasting about a year. For example, 2022 was very active and 2023 has been much calmer. This pattern follows the same trend as past active years, 2008 storm heavy, 2009 minimal storm activity. Then we saw the same pattern occur in 2015 with numerous storms causing damage in our region, followed by 2016 with little to no severe storms. Right now, we are in the mild phase of our weather pattern,” she said.
However, not all is lost for those dreaming of a White Christmas. “Our models agree there will be light snowfall in the days leading up to December 25th, with temperatures staying below freezing to preserve any snowfall on lawns and trees. The lights will look mighty fine with a fresh cover of snow,” said Ms. Dimple.
