Snowstorm Heading to Cinniapolis

This is one October surprise not crafted by politicians. The headline is true, a snowstorm event will reach Cinniapolis next weekend. Early models forecast three to ten inches falling over the span of 24 hours from Friday evening into Saturday evening. While this event could be on the mild side, the forecast does guarantee measurable snow. Whether or not it’ll be several inches should be determined over the next few days as the system approaches Cinniapolis.

CNPS-TV lead meteorologist, Fran Dimple, offered her view on the incoming storm, “Well, it looks like Autumn is dressing up as Winter this Halloween. We expect the snow to start falling after sunset Friday evening. Our most reliable models all seem to agree on the timing of this being an overnight snow and trailing off to flurries by late Saturday afternoon. However, the models differ on the amount of snow. Most are showing somewhere in the area of five inches. But, there are outliers for both the low end and high end, with some models showing up to twenty inches of snowfall. Stay tuned to CNPS-TV for updates as this snowstorm approaches,” she said. Ms. Dimple also reminded folks to stock up on necessities, “The winds will be a bit gustier than normal and with temperatures hovering around or above freezing, there is a potential for some icy conditions causing power outages. One thing’s for sure, it will be sloppy out, so grab your creature comforts before the snow starts falling on Friday.”

The snowstorm should not affect trick-or-treating with temperatures expected to be in the 50s next Sunday and could reach the 60s for Halloween. Let’s be thankful the snowfall is the weekend before Halloween and not after. Being stuck indoors with a surplus of candy would be hard on the teeth and belly.
