Yerg Fashion House (YFH) announced in its Summer Town Hall its plans to relocate their corporate headquarters to the new city of Walesburg in 2028. YFH has satellite offices throughout the globe but has maintained a modest HQ in Cinniapolis since its founding in 1993. Yvonne Grey, the founder and CEO, revealed the news to employees and media assembled for the town hall.
“In 1993, I had a sketch pad, measuring tape, donated fabrics, a sewing machine, and guts. We’ve turned that into a globally recognized brand. Today, I see Walesburg, a new town still finding its sea legs. But, the elements are there. I see courage, heart, hunger, and…guts! I want YFH to be a pillar in Walesburg, said Ms. Grey before correcting the record, “No! I want it to be the pillar of Walesburg! In 2028, YFH will open its new headquarters located in central Walesburg. Our campus will be the statement piece of Walesburg and the center of luxury and comfort,” she said.
YFH has occupied the corner of Main Street and 4th Avenue since its inception in 1993. The modest 4-story office building started as one floor, but added levels to keep pace with the growth of the business and need for additional onsite employees. After the last permit request to add an additional level and purchase the neighboring lot for additional construction was denied, Ms. Grey said they began to explore their options to relocate within Cinniapolis. The new properties purchased used to make up the Manufacturing District of Walesburg. After the secession, Ms. Grey held steady to their plans for relocation, even if it meant leaving Cinniapolis, “We had a handshake agreement with the Cinniapolis City Council and local government of Walesburg. Obviously, that government is no longer in place. But, Mayor Winston prioritized welcoming YFH into the region for the long-term,” said she said.
Mayor Winston welcomed the news, “We are so proud to partner with YFH on constructing a sustainable presence within Walesburg. It was important to our community leaders to retain this agreement and add additional incentives to keep YFH and its workforce located in Walesburg for decades” she said, wearing a YFH sweatshirt and headband.
According to leaked details of the deal still being finalized, the property lot acquisitions will be leased to YFH for 25 years. Demolition is set to begin “as soon as the ink dries”, according to insiders. The first phase of new construction will be the HQ tower, a sprawling 5-story structure spanning the entire campus, end-to-end. The second phase will include shops, a pharmacy, fitness center, and cafes surrounding the office building. There are planned third and fourth phases on hold until the first phase is complete. The YFH team purposely held off to be responsible with their construction budget.
“The Walesburg leadership and citizens were kind enough to allow us to build on their land. We want to return that cooperation with fiscal responsibility because in our past dealings with another government, the budget shortfall was passed off to the tax payer. We will not repeat that error,” said Ms. Grey.
YFH 2024 revenue ranked among the top 10 of independently owned apparel companies, according to reports. The relocation and presence of YFH HQ, revitalizing the vacant manufacturing district, and anchoring the downtown area projects to add millions of dollars in revenue to Walesburg.
