The Cinniapolis Safety Department (CSD) says it has referred several open investigations into cannibalism crimes to the Cinniapolis Police Department (CPD) and Holy Sheriff Legion (HSL). The CSD told the Chorus they simply don’t have the resources or manpower to fully investigate serious crimes, such as cannibalism. According to their weekly reporting, CSD reported cannibalism crimes have spiked exponentially since the onset of the meat ban in September.
“At first, it (spike in cannibalism reports) seemed like a coincidence or short-lived reaction to the meat ban. But, the reports increase week over week. This is a serious plague on our communities. That’s why we’re referring any and all cannibalism crimes to CPD and HSL. The perpetrators need to be stopped immediately,” said Rhonda Dixon, CSD CEO.
The HSL confirmed the crimes have taken place in all areas of Cinniapolis, “Nobody is exempt from becoming the next victim. The targets have been young, they have been old. They are thick, they are thin. They reside in Reunion, they reside in Walesburg. A subject consumed by their hunger makes no distinction when targeting other humans as food. So, we’ll (HSL) make no distinction when putting these animals down,” said COO, General John Chester. “However, at this time, we have only persons of interest and no suspects yet.”
“People are hungry. The Mayor rescinded our right to a healthy lifestyle and diet. When people are hungry, they don’t think, they survive. You’re asking me about the dramatic increase in cannibalism. I answer that the increase is a direct result of the meat ban and rapid price increase of vegetables, fruits, breads, and other substantial foods that were supposed to be readily available after the ban. Working class people that used to live off a sirloin steak, mango, and potato now can’t even afford the potato,” said community activist, Gerard Gonzalez.
In a rare occurrence, the Mayor’s office declined to comment. However, sources said the administration is organizing a task-force to address the concerns of rising prices and developing educational resources about meal-prepping a non-meat diet at a reasonable price. They made no mention of the cannibalism epidemic sweeping over Cinniapiolis.
