The first-ever meat trafficker was arrested yesterday by undercover CPD officers in Walesburg. The operation was part of a months-long sting, after receiving a tip in July about planned underground meat markets conducting clandestine business in the back-alleys of Walesburg.
Trent Leddo, a retired Cinni Prep teacher, was arrested selling 100 lbs. of ground beef, chicken wings, and pork tenderloins to the CPD in the early hours Friday morning. Last year, Mr. Leddo was accused of running a forced labor vocational program while teaching at Cinni Prep for over 45 years. However, as of this writing, no criminal charges nor lawsuits have been filed against Mr. Leddo based on last year’s accusations.
Nonetheless, Mr. Leddo will go down in history as the first-ever alleged meat trafficker in Cinniapolis. But, he will likely not be the last because anyone with functional nostrils has smelled the waft of cooked meats throughout town as Cinniapolitans continue to grill their meats.
When asked for comment, Mayor Gondola said, “We are serious about cracking down on illegal sales, production and less serious about consumption, at this point. We understand citizens purchased in bulk leading up to September 5th and those purchases will be cooked in the privacy of their kitchens or backyards for the near-future. Look, we’re not kicking down doors, raiding homes for meat. However, we also understand there is a segment of society looking to exploit the ban and make illegal profits off of this government’s efforts to save our city and clean the polluted air from the bygone days meat industry emissions.”
It’s an ambitious goal. But, the Mayor’s ambitions may only go as far as reluctant Cinniapolitans will take him by changing their diets and tastes towards the betterment of clean air over the city.
