Expect the dry conditions to continue this Summer as Cinniapolis precipitation levels approach record lows. A mild Winter bled into a mild Spring which is leading to a dry, mild Summer. While this weather is preferable for Lake Sinnissippi beach-goers, it is kryptonite for local harvests.
Five Families Farms recently reduced their projected fruit and vegetable crop growth to account for lack of natural precipitation in the Cinniapolis region. “It’s been a rough several months with very little rain and unusually dry conditions,” said Isaac Irvin, owner of Irvin Family Vegetable Farm. “We’ll come nowhere near the growth success we’ve experienced in recent years.”
However, Thick Pickins GM, Shaquille Aston, presented a different outlook. “Thick Pickins prepares for these types of events. We have a surplus of product that can be released from our forever storage to account for any food supply shortages that might arise from natural or man-made events.”
This Summer expects to see an uptick in wildfires and micro dust storms due to increased frequency of dry thunderstorms in the area. If folks didn’t prepare an evacuation plan this Spring, it’s highly recommended to have one in place this Summer. Better safe than “charry”.
