Cinniapolis Police Department to be Reinstated

The Cinniapolis Police Department (CPD) will be reinstated sometime this Spring or Summer, according to law enforcement sources. Those same sources also confirm there is no plan to absolve the Cinniapolis Safety Department (CSD) nor diminish the role of the Holy Sheriff Legion (HSL) within the Cinniapolis law enforcement structure.

While there are no firm plans to disclose yet, the Mayor is rumored to have already approved an action plan to re-introduce the CPD in a more flattering light than when they were disgracefully disbanded.

The CPD was dissolved in 2021 after extensive reporting, research, and third-party department reviews concluded the current leadership and police officers lacked the institutional control to safely protect Cinniapolis. The controversial decision was met with skepticism from the pro-law enforcement lobby but praised by civil rights groups who had long accused CPD officers of abusing their power. Less than 2 years later, the CPD will be back on those same streets they were accused of abusing.

During the time CPD has been shelved, the HSL stepped into the leadership role of Cinniapolis law enforcement. They have carried out operations against many dangerous threats to Cinniapolis. Many of the HSL agents are ex-cops.

Early indications are the CPD will only accept new recruits and no former officers will be able to rejoin the force.

We reached out the the Mayor’s office for comment. But, have yet to receive a response as of this writing.
