Oliver Roseman Receives Hero’s Welcome Home

Former Mayoral candidate and owner of the Beaned Café, Oliver Roseman, returned home after several days in the hospital recovering from injuries sustained during an armed robbery. Cinniapolitans lined the streets from Reunion to Centralis waving, hooting, and hollering support for Mr. Roseman as he made his home. Seated as a passenger in the front seat, Mr. Roseman appeared overwhelmed with the support but waved and winked at his supporters around town.

Mr. Roseman was transported in his personal vehicle escorted by CSD and CFPS vehicles that blared their horns and sirens to pump up the crowds for the most festive ride home from medical care anyone has received in recent memory.

“I didn’t deserve that but I also couldn’t turn it down. I’d like to thank the CSD and CFPS for that riveting ride home” said Mr. Roseman, proving his trademark humility went unaffected by the recent events. It was also a key component of his demeanor in the run-up to last month’s special election. “Well, Mayor Gondola is tough to beat. Folks can say my health cost me the race but nobody will ever know if that’s true or not,” he said.

While we may never know the outcome of a healthy Mr. Roseman versus Mayor Gondola in 2023, Mr. Roseman did not rule out Mayoral campaign for 2028, “It was a great experience. I was happy to be a part of it and I would certainly consider a run in 2028. But, ask me again in 5 years and I might have a different answer,” he said with a wry smile.

The armed robber who nearly took Mr. Rosmeman’s life is still at large. “No, I don’t walk on eggshells or live in fear of that person. If the authorities can’t apprehend the shooter, the universe has a way of evening things out. I don’t give it too much thought. I’m happy to be home again and look forward getting back to work,” he said.

The CSD confirmed to the Chorus they are still actively investigating the matter and will not close their investigation until the shooter is arrested.
