Dolly is here to advise the Cinniapolis community and answer any questions with grace and honesty. Here is today’s question:
Q: Dear Dolly, do you really believe boyking Gondola won this special election??? Do you really??? Because I, for one, do not! This man’s family has had Cinniapolis in a vise since they set foot in our city. I was at the Freedom Forever Rally packed with thousands of Cinniapolitans demanding change. I saw Mayor Gondola’s rallies and there were maybe 100 people there. No way he got the most votes of these candidates. When Waldo Penney gets on the mic at 510 AM, thousands of listeners tune in and his interviews get millions of views on CNPS Stream. And, you mean to tell me he received less than 1% of the total vote? Lies!!! The closest polling candidate, Oliver Roseman, was shot days before the election. Thugs!!! The Gondolas should be investigated immediately for election fraud and criminal intimidation. I’ve lived under the Gondolas thumb my whole life. Dolly, what do I do, stay and fight for the truth and my home, or pack my bags and find a new home, away from the corrupt Gondolas?
Sincerely, Dejected Denier
A: Dear Dejected Denier, it’s always difficult to accept defeat. Especially, when polls and reports hinted at a possible replacement for the Mayor. However, not one of the candidates alleged fraud or cheating during this special election. Not one media outlet confirmed alleged reports of election fraud or cheating. By all accounts, it was a fair and free election. I’ll take this chance to remind you that showing up to a rally or tuning into a radio program does not equal a vote. Many times I have tuned into Mr. Penney’s diatribes on the radio. But, only for my personal entertainment. He is more spectacle than substance. If the choice was between him and a fish, that fish would get my vote. Your spirit and enthusiasm for politics is what makes free elections the envy of the world. But, your spirit and enthusiasm for politics is also what makes elections insufferable. I hope you’ll stay in Cinniapolis. I hope you learn to discern facts from opinion. I hope you develop critical thinking skills to understand how elections and voting actually works. I hope you don’t continue to believe everything you are told. If those hopes can’t be realized, then my hope is that you move far away from Cinniapolis.
Sincerely, Dolly
