Mayoral Candidate in Critical Condition After Attempted Robbery

Oliver Roseman is in critical condition after being shot during an attempted robbery at the Walesburg Beaned Café location. Mr. Roseman is a candidate for Mayor in the upcoming special election.

Shortly after 9:00 PM last night, a masked individual entered the restaurant and demanded cash from the barista at the time, LaToya Panters. Ms. Panters told CSD agents she was very frightened and struggled to get the register open. Mr. Roseman heard the commotion from the manager’s office and confronted the gunman.

The CSD incident report obtained by the Chorus states Mr. Roseman gave all the cash from each register to the gunman. However, the gunman demanded that Mr. Roseman unlock the safe. Mr. Roseman informed the gunman that there is no safe and that he had given all the cash to him already, asking him to leave. At this time, Ms. Panters threw hot coffee on the gunman. The suspect than aimed his gun at Ms. Panters. Mr. Roseman acted quickly and threw his body in front of Ms. Panters suffering multiple gunshot wounds. The gunman fled on foot after shots were fired.

Mr. Roseman was rushed into emergency surgery. Sources indicate he has a 50/50 chance of survival. His campaign team declined to comment on this story.

The other Mayoral candidates issued a joint statement condemning the violence and offering their services and support to the Roseman family. They also praised Mr. Roseman’s selflessness and courage, yet again, by sacrificing his body for the good of others.

CSD agents are still searching for the suspect. The public is encouraged to contact their local CSD or HSL office with any information regarding this shooting. The suspect is between 5’9″ and 6′, medium build, light skin, and may have sought treatment for burn injuries suffered from the coffee thrown on him.
