Beaned Café Announces Partnership with Saturday Gardens

Oliver Roseman, owner of Beaned Café, and Debut Saturday, owner of Saturday Gardens, visited 510 AM this morning to announce their new partnership for a meatless menu. These new items will be available for purchase at all Beaned Café locations starting this Winter. Both gentlemen formed a mutual appreciation for one another’s success in each of their respective industries.

Mr. Roseman has gone from a one-stop shop for black coffee only to multiple cafes offering different blends of coffee, plenty of creamers, and recently expanded food items to the cafe’s menu. Coming off the recent success of this Summer’s “anti” food menu, Mr. Roseman said this new venture was a no brainer. “I didn’t know what to expect,” he said, in reference to his expanded food menu. “It was a leap, as far as food options go, to try to stand out while also providing items that taste good. I think we succeeded on both fronts. Next, partnering with Debut to get quality, local ingredients for another leap, is quite exciting. I’m looking forward to it for both of us, but more importantly, for our customers,” said Mr. Roseman.

Mr. Saturday’s urban gardening business gained momentum prior to the pandemic with installations on well-known structures, such as the rooftop rose garden on St. Boris Elementary. Once the pandemic hit, Saturday Gardens pivoted its focus from urban gardening services to urban gardening how-to packages, so each Cinniapolitan was empowered to grow their own gardens wherever they desire. “It’s something I could have never predicted,” said Mr. Saturday. “When we got started, I thought urban gardening was a good idea. A way to brighten up older structures and make use of the space to grow fruits and vegetables. Then, everything shut down for the pandemic. And, darkness was everywhere. It made good sense to share our success with our customers and allow them to design and grow their own crops and plants,” he said. “Now, it makes all the sense in the world to partner with an established, well-respected businessman in Oliver and see what we can create.”

This duo’s purpose is to provide meatless options in what seems like an ever-increasing meatless world. “There’s been a lot of hubbub over beef lately and this is our solution to help promote alternative sources of vitamins and proteins, if red meat was to diminish in availability,” said Mr. Roseman. “I agree with Oliver. There are so many more options outside of meat. Options that are friendly for the environment, friendly for your health, and tasty too,” said Mr. Saturday.

The new menu provided to the Chorus ranges from familiar to frightening foods. With Mr. Roseman and Mr. Saturday’s permission, the meatless menu is presented below:

Saturday Strawberry Salad
Stewed Spiced Carrot Soup
Beaned Burger on Brioche
Worm Burger on Wheat
Celery Sushi
Stuffed Tomato Pie
